African American Caucus Iredell County
Inspiring Impactful Change
Thirty-nine (39) African American Democratic State Executive Committee (SEC) members had specific concerns that were not addressed by the State SEC. A deliberative assembly was formed and called to order to address these issues. The SEC adopted a resolution recognizing the creation of a caucus. With unanimous vote, an auxiliary, the African American Caucus of the North Carolina Democratic Party, was chartered by the SEC. The African American Caucus of Iredell County was organized December 2011. Our first organized meeting was January 2012.
The Purpose and objectives of the African American County Iredell County Democratic Party shall be to seek the full representation of African Americans at all levels and in all activities of the Democratic Party.
The Mission of the African American Caucus of Iredell County Democratic Party (AAC-ICDP) is to promote political participation and education within the African American community, encourage African Americans to seek public office, and to represent issues and concerns of its membership to the Democratic Party leadership and to work towards strengthening the Democratic Party.
